I know, I remember a time when the mere thought of public speaking made me break out in a cold sweat. But, let me tell you, that all changed once I realized the power of mastering these skills. You’ve got that fire in your gut telling you that your vision, no matter how crazy others may think it is, is worth pursuing. And, let me tell you, don’t you dare let anyone dim that flame.

You just know it!

In your gut, something is driving you with this desire that what you’re longing for is on the other side of mastery of sales, developing others, and leading a successful organization. In the same respect, you have a vision that others think is crazy, but your passion burns and you’re not quite ready to let go. And maybe you feel your heart racing, a lump in your throat and you are wanting to scream, “YES”, in this moment right now.

You’ve been called a dreamer. Me too. Frustrating, huh?

Perhaps people have even told you that you’re being unrealistic?

At some point you have to stop and realize that your business is only as successful as your capacity to simplify and replicate. I’ve often heard that we set out to complicate things and in that space we lose a bit of who we are because we’re trying so hard to embody the strengths of someone else.

You are NOT them! Stick to who you are ~ that’s the fiber of where your success will lie.

The key to success in sales is being true to yourself. You are unique, and that’s what sets you apart from everyone else. Don’t try to be someone else, stick to what makes you, you. You can’t duplicate people, you can only duplicate systems. It’s the secret ingredient to success.

Now, let’s dive into some actionable tips to help you crush it and boost your sales and marketing confidence.

Tip 1: Happy customers are the best advertisers.

Make sure to always ask for referrals from your satisfied customers. A simple, “Thank you for your trust. I build my business on referrals, if you know of anyone else who could benefit from my services, I’d love to meet them,” goes a long way.

Tip 2: Be the type of person that people want to be around.

Make eye contact, smile often, be sincere, helpful, and patient. People will naturally flock to you, and that’s a recipe for success.

Tip 3: Follow the “Platinum Rule.”

It’s not about you, it’s about them. Go above and beyond to make others feel valued and appreciated. Trust me, when people see how confident you are in your product or service, they’ll be singing your praises in no time.

Tip 4: Engage in conversations with genuine compliments.

People love to feel seen and heard. Look for opportunities to give a kind word or two. You’ll be amazed at how quickly barriers come down and relationships are formed.

Tip 5: Focus on creating interest, not just the outcome.

Building relationships is key, so take your time and don’t try to force anything. People do business with those they know, like, and trust, so just keep that in mind.

Tip 6: Seize the moment.

Every day is an opportunity to share your business, so don’t let it slip by. Make sure your daily priorities are to create interest, engage in conversations, and add to your contact list.

Tip 7: Use the magic words, “Who do you know who…?”

These five simple words can do wonders for your business. Don’t underestimate the power of your network, especially with social media making connections easier than ever.

Tip 8: Leverage the power of third-party referrals.

Ask for referrals at every opportunity and offer something in return, like a special drawing or a complimentary gift. Trust me, people love to feel like they’re getting something in return.

Tip 9: Always warm up your leads.

Cold leads are tough, so make sure to put in the effort to warm them up first. The more they get to know you, the more likely they are to do business with you.

Tip 10: Show Your Love in a Hi-Tech World, Babe

Listen up, boss-lady! In this fast-paced, digital world, you can stand out by bringing back the little touches that people ain’t seen in a minute. Think outside the box, sister! Send a hand-written note, surprise them with a latte invitation, show up with a bouquet of blooms, or bless them with a little “I got you” gift.
